Gold Fringe Necklace with Tundra Sapphires

I created this gold fringe necklace to show off the many beautiful shades of tundra sapphires. Tundra sapphire is a trade name used for various shades of garnet, and this gemstone comes in vivid reds, burgundies, oranges, golds and greens. The tiny stones are arranged in a pretty fringe of color that blends from one to the next, and then back again. A small, handcut gold bead separates each little stack of stones, allowing them to move independently. The fringe portion of this necklace is approximately 1 1/2" wide. More tiny gemstones connect the lobster clasp and decorate the end of the extender chain. The adjustable length makes this an ideal necklace for layering.

This necklace is adjustable in length from approx. 16 3/4" (42cm) to 18 3/4" (48cm). The clasp may be fastened at any point along the extender chain, allowing you to wear this at exactly the right length for you. My photos show the necklace at its various lengths.

Your jewellery will be packaged in a small gift box. Gift wrapping is available upon request.

What is Gold-Filled?

Gold-filled is an economical alternative to solid gold. By law, it has 1/20th by weight layer of 14 karat gold permanently bonded over a core of base metal. It is tarnish-resistant, safe for sensitive skin and unlike gold plate, it will not wear off. It is a great way to enjoy affordable gold jewellery.
