Long Pink and Green Pearl Necklace - Changing Spring
These long layering necklaces have quickly become my favourite pieces to make. I love working with color, and these necklaces allow me to combine colors like an artist might. The challenge is to choose the right pearls and gemstones to blend from one color to the next, all the way around the necklace. It's also a great excuse to buy "just one more set of beads".
Many shades of pink and green are incorporated into this piece, from the darkest emerald to the palest blush pink. I used olive-coloured quartz, rose quartz, aventurine and prehnite for the gemstones; and freshwater pearls in many shades of pink, fuchsia, purple and green.
Some of the gemstones are perfectly faceted, while others are a rougher cut. Some pearls are nugget-shaped, which are flat on one side and rounded on the other; while others are almost perfectly round. I love the juxtaposition of fine and imperfect, and it makes the piece much more interesting.
The perfect touch for a pretty Spring wedding, or just as a special splurge for you!
There is no clasp on the necklace, which allows you to position it many different ways, highlighting in front the colour that you choose to show. The length of this necklace is approx. 34" (86.4cm) and is considered opera-length. My mannequin is life-sized and should give you an idea as to where the necklace sits. If you require a different length, please send me a message and I would be happy to quote you a price.
Your jewellery will be packaged in a small gift box. Gift wrapping is available upon request.
