Gold Chain Earrings with Genuine Tourmaline Gemstones

These pretty, gold chain earrings are so lightweight and perfect for warmer days. To create this pair, I combined two sizes of gold cable chain, genuine tourmaline gemstones, and tiny gold vermeil beads. The pale green and deep pink tourmaline stones say "Spring" to me, and the warm gold is a lovely complement. The lengths of chains and linked gemstones hang from simple gold-filled earwires. This is a casual, bohemian-style pair of earrings that contains a bit of sparkle.

The length of these earrings is approx. 2 1/2" (6.3cm) long from the top of the earwires to the bottom of the longest chain.

What is Gold-Filled?

Gold-filled is an economical alternative to solid gold. By law, it has 1/20th by weight layer of 14 karat gold permanently bonded over a core of base metal. It is tarnish-resistant, safe for sensitive skin and unlike gold plate, it will not wear off. It is a great way to enjoy affordable gold jewellery.
