Beer Quartz Earrings with Rhodolite Garnets in Gold

These Fall wedding earrings pair gorgeous, caramel-colored quartz with a cluster of plum and red garnets. To create this pair, I wire-wrapped concave-cut whisky quartz stones with gold-filled wire, and then topped them off with smaller AAA quality rhodolite garnets and red garnets. The little stones remind me of berries, so I named this pair "beer spritzer". Elegant handmade earwires are a beautiful touch. This color combination reminds me of Fall, and they would be just perfect for an Autumn wedding.

These earrings are approx. 1 1/4" (32mm) from the top of the earwires to the bottom of the quartz.

What is Gold-Filled?

Gold-filled is an economical alternative to solid gold. By law, it has 1/20th by weight layer of 14 karat gold permanently bonded over a core of base metal. It is tarnish-resistant, safe for sensitive skin and unlike gold plate, it will not wear off. It is a great way to enjoy affordable gold jewellery.
