Herkimer Diamond Earrings in Sterling Silver

These herkimer diamond earrings are simple and pretty. To create this pair, the speckled gemstones are wired onto oxidized sterling silver headpins, and then suspended from bright sterling silver earwires. Found in Herkimer County, New York, these "diamonds" are actually quartz, and they are known for their exceptional clarity and diamond-like appearance. These particular stones contain speckles of black, which adds interest and visual texture. The black headpins bring out the darker shades in the stones.
